From International Athletics to Endurance Performance

John Fagan: Physiotherapist, former Irish international 400m hurdler, and competitive distance runner and triathlete.

John represented Ireland in the 400m hurdles before moving into distance running and triathlon. Alongside his athletic career, he built his professional expertise as a physiotherapist, working with athletes across different levels of sport. Today, Fagan Performance brings together clinical knowledge, high-performance sport experience and a firsthand understanding of endurance training.

Hurdling taught him that rhythm, mechanics and holding form under fatigue decide races, and he still sees every runner as a whole system of technique, capacity and load.

He studied sport science at Dublin City University and physiotherapy at Robert Gordon University. His clinical work has spanned sports rehabilitation, orthopaedics, neurological rehabilitation and endurance performance.

In high-performance sport he has provided physiotherapy support to athletes associated with HOKA NAZ Elite and to Athletics Ireland athletes, and was Head Therapist at Lansdowne RFC. As a competitive distance runner and triathlete himself, he knows what it takes to fit serious training around a working week.

Fagan Performance brings those worlds together: an athlete's feel for training, a clinician's eye for the body, and the standards of elite sport, made practical for runners and triathletes at every level. In short, an experienced sports physio in your corner.

Still racing

John still trains and races himself, so advice on pacing, fueling and fitting training around life comes from someone doing it too.
